IT WILL be time to shake those tail feathers when The Briefcase Blues Brothers roll into Weston's The Playhouse Theatre on February 17.
It is now more than 30 years since John Belushi and Dan Ackroyd first appeared on television screens as Jake and Elwood Blues, aka the Blues Brothers.
The duo gained worldwide cult status following the release of the 1980 film, when Elwood first said to Jake: “It’s 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it’s dark, and we’re wearing sunglasses.”
Their disciples have been spreading the word of soul according to the church of rhythm ‘n’ blues ever since.
The Briefcase Blues Brothers have been celebrating the toe tapping phenomenon for ten years, and are inviting the audience to join in the fun by wearing dark glasses and pork pie hats.
Their two-hour live show packs in more than 35 songs including Everybody Needs Somebody, Gimme Some Lovin’, Think and Sweet Home Chicago.
The show will start at 7.30pm. Tickets, priced £14.50-16, are available from the box office on 01934 645544 or www.theplayhouse.co.uk
