Cate Cody and her Jazz Cats to perform in Churchill.

Cate Cody and her Jazz Cats will perform at Churchill Court Lodge this summer.

Cody is one of the UK's finest jazz singers and audiences can expect a night of sophisticated 1930s style vocal jazz.

Her swinging band features some of the country's top players who have worked with singers and musicians including Acker Bilk, Stacey Ken, Bryan Ferry and George Melly.

Dave Newton, who has been Jazz Pianist of the Year 13 times, said: “Cate Cody has a unique way with a song.

“She sings the melody and lyrics with a beguiling simplicity that makes it sound like they are a secret she wants only you to know and she draws the listener in without resorting to tricks and affectations.”

People can take picnics along to the performance on June 29, which runs from 7.30-9.30pm, at the lodge in Church Lane.

Tickets, priced £12, are available from 01934 852589 or
