A GLOBALLY renowned flautist has written an exclusive composition for a one-off performance in a North Somerset village. Nicholas Cartledge, winner of 10 Royal College of Music awards, will be performing at St John the Baptist Church in Churchill at 7.30

A GLOBALLY renowned flautist has written an exclusive composition for a one-off performance in a North Somerset village.Nicholas Cartledge, winner of 10 Royal College of Music awards, will be performing at St John the Baptist Church in Churchill at 7.30pm on June 24.Nicholas has performed around the world and his music has been broadcast on national radio stations.Versatile guitarist and composer Jonathan Preiss and award-winning bassist Nick Haward will join Nicholas for the performance.Jonathan has acquired a tremendous reputation performing at venues across Britain and Nick plays and records with several London-based jazz and world music projects.The trio has earned top reviews in the national press with its mixture of flute, guitar and bass, covering genres from swing and samba to classical and classic funk.Tickets, priced £7.50 for members, £9.50 for non-members and £3.50 for under 18s, are available from Mrs Dornton on 01934 852919.Residents of Churchill, Langford or Burrington can use the Churchill and Langford Minibus.
