A chart-topping singer who dominated the airwaves for the best part of a decade is set to take his unmistakable sounds to a hotly-anticipated outdoor festival this summer.
Garage pioneer Craig David will perform at Westonbirt Arboretum, in Mitchell Drive, near Tetbury, Gloucestershire on June 18 at 7.30pm.
The star singer shot to fame in 2000 with his first two singles, Fill Me In and 7 Days, each scoring number-one status off the back of a successful feature on Atrful Dodger’s 1999 single Re-Rewind, which can still be heard in Britain’s nightclubs in the early hours of Sunday mornings.
The 35-year-old followed his early success with more top 10 hits including Walking Away, What’s Your Flava?
The Southampton-born star also reached the top 10 with a duet with legendary performer Sting. Their collaboration, Rise And Fall, peaked at number two.
David recently emerged from a lengthy hiatus to once again dazzle crowds with his up-tempo garage hits, releasing popular songs Ain’t Giving Up, Nothing Like This, and When The Bassline Drops which culminated in a number-one album.
The garage star was also bestowed with the honour recording the 2016 Children In Need single titled All We Needed.
His rhythmic tunes are also a hit on the festival scene, and David smashed a jam-packed set at Glastonbury last year with thousands clambering through the mud to get a view of the stage.
The gig is part of the acclaimed Forest Live series, which is organised by the Forestry Commission to raise money to maintain and grow England’s woodland. Other artists performing in the series include Elbow, Rick Astley and Olly Murs.
Tickets, priced £42.85, are available from 03000 680400 or online via www.forestry.gov.uk/music
