A brass band from East London is recreating jazz music for the modern day, getting people on their feet and dancing along – with an upcoming tour date in Bristol sure to entertain.

The Hackney Colliery Band are heading to Bristol’s Bierkeller this month with their unique 21st century brass sound, fresh off the back of the release of their new LP Sharpener.

The East Londoners have collaborated with the likes of Amy Winehouse, Eliza Doolittle, Fyfe Dangerfield and Jamie Cullum, and performed a stunning 45-minute set at the closing ceremony of the London Olympics in 2012.

The band will take the stage at Bierkeller, in All Saints’ Street, at 7pm on July 23.

Tickets, priced £15, are available from 01179 299008 or via www.bierkellerlive.info
