A BIG name from the world of British music has announced surprise plans to perform at the already sold-out session at Banksy’s Dismaland art exhibition in Weston’s Tropicana tonight (Friday).

DJ Fatboy Slim is famed for hits like Rockafeller Skank, Praise You, Weapon Of Choice and Right Here Right Now, and will be delivering a selection of his best-known tracks from the show’s music stage this evening.

Singer-songwriter Richard Hawley and American hip-hop star Mos Def have already performed at the Banksy-curated ‘bemusement park’ since it opened on August 21, while Bristol outfit Massive Attack are lined up for a performance slot on September 25.

However, despite rumours beginning to circulate within the past few days, an appearance by Fatboy Slim – whose real name is Norman Cook – has only been confirmed today.

Tickets for tonight’s session have long since sold out, while demand for other days remains sky-high. The latest batch sold out within minutes of release earlier this week.

The next set of tickets are due to go up for grabs at 10am on Wednesday via dismaland.co.uk

Dismaland is described by the anonymous Banksy as ‘a festival of art, amusements and entry-level anarchism’, and pictures of some of its key exhibits can be viewed here.
