DUST off those Union Jacks and get ready to give them another wave this summer as the proms return to Weston.

The British Philharmonic Concert Orchestra will play at the annual last night at the proms performance at the theatre on August 28, and treat the audience to an array of rousing British classics.

Both soprano Jeni Bern and tenor Andrew Forbes Lane will this year return to the line-up to help the audience through the usual proms fun, frolics and flag-waving.

Audience participation will also be sought for the likes of Jerusalem, Rule Britannia, Land of Hope and Glory, and many more timeless classics.

Compere Mark Langley will also return with his banter and witty readings from verse and poetry to help the evening along.

The programme is packed full of traditional English music, themes from film scores, the musical theatre and the best of marches and classical music.

The orchestra has played hundreds of concerts up and down the country since it was formed in 1996.
