RISING folk music star Hannah James will perform in Bristol next month as she travels to venues across the country for her first solo tour.

James is originally known for her role as an accordion player and singer with the band Kerfuffle and was part of an acclaimed folk duo alongside Bellowhead’s Sam Sweeney.

Her Jig Doll show has been funded by Arts Council England and Help Musicians UK and won rave reviews when it was previewed at the Shrewsbury Festival in August.

James’ performance uses innovative stage techniques and technology to frame traditional folk performances in a modern context, and was inspired by the life of the travelling folk player.

Hannah James will be at the Bristol Folk House, in Park Street, at 7.30pm on November 13.

Tickets, priced £10.50 or £8 for concessions, are available from the box office on 01179 262987 or online via the Bristol Folk House website.
