The concert is one of 32 taking place across the country to coincide with the release of his new record The Ukulele Album.

His show contains a number of well-known songs including Ace Of Spades, Mr Blue Skies and Pinball Wizard all played on the ukulele.

He will be joined by a four-strong band, including his own son Pete.

Joe can play a variety of instruments, drawing on more than 50 years of skill and experience, from the electric guitar and fiddle to the banjo and mandolin.

His public love of the ukulele has done much to boost its revival in recent years, and he has produced his own signature range of the instrument this year and in 2009.

A recipient of both a Mojo Award for music and an MBE, Joe has won many awards throughout his career and regularly plays at festivals across the country.

The Beatles supported Joe on several occasions in his early music career and Joe’s rendition of I’ll See You In My Dreams closed the George Harrison
Tribute Concert.

Joe Brown is playing at The Playhouse on May 15.

Tickets, priced £23.50-25.50 are available from the box office on 01934 645544 or online at
