LAST Night At The Proms is coming to The Playhouse in Weston to commemorate the centenary of World War One.
The British Philharmonic Concert Orchestra is returning to the seaside town with a special performance.
A 33-piece orchestra is being joined by star singers Andrew Forbes Lane, who sings tenor, and Gillene Butterfield, who sings soprano.
The ensemble will perform wonderful music from the first half of the 20th century, including traditional songs as well as film music and classical tunes of the time.
It will culminate in a rousing traditional Last Night At The Proms section for all to sing, clap and cheer along to.
It promises to be an evening of reflection, rousing tunes, flag waving and whistle blowing.
The set will include Colonel Bogey, Schindler’s List, A Nightingale Sang In Berkeley Square, The British Grenadiers, South Pacific Medley, A Life On The Ocean Wave, Keep The Home Fires Burning, Roses Of Picardy, Land Of Hope And Glory, Rule Britannia and Jerusalem.
The event is being held on August 24 from 7.30pm at the venue in High Street. Tickets, priced £13-21 or £59 for a family, are available from the box office on 01934 645544 or from www.parkwoodtheatres.co.uk
