Matt Owens from hit band Noah And The Whale will perform his solo songs at Loves Café on Saturday.

The singer-songwriter is going to play a one-off gig at the West Street venue to give fans a taste of his album Whiskey And Orchids.

More: ‘I like lyrics that really overshare’.

Noah And The Whale are renowned for songs including Five Years’ Time and L.I.F.E.G.O.E.S.O.N. and Owens will be sure to give these familiar favourites an airing at the weekend.

He said: “I’m unbelievably excited.

“I’m incredibly proud of the record and can’t wait for everyone to hear the album.

“I’ve spent the past three years trying to gig every single night which has resulted in playing roughly 300 nights a year.

“I was a bass player with Noah for the past six years of our career and I needed to get back to guitar, singing and songwriting and get my sound together which I now feel I’ve realised.”

Tickets, priced £8.80, are available at www.lovesweston.co.uk/tickets
