A top-quality singer-songwriter who was a member of a popular British rock band will take to a stage in Weston-super-Mare later this year for a hotly-anticipated show.

Former star of The Moody Blues Justin Hayward will perform at The Playhouse, in High Street, on September 25 at 7.30pm.

Hayward possesses one of the most recognisable voices in British music, and was the driving force behind many of The Moody Blues’ hits as a first-rate songwriter.

The 70-year-old was responsible for penning classics like Nights In White Satin, New Horizons and Your Wildest Dreams.

The Swindon-born performer is also a master of the guitar, meaning the audience will be in safe hands at this one-man show.

The Moody Blues have sold more than 70 million records, and boast an impressive list of 15 studio albums. They are known for their progressive style, fusing a wide range of genres to create their unmistakable sound which has inspired many bands to this very day.

Hayward will be playing newer material from his solo albums, including critically-acclaimed 2013 release Spirits Of The Western Sky.

But hardcore fans will be pleased to hear the expert songwriter will not neglect his days with The Moody Blues, and will delve into the group’s extensive back catalogue of hits which earned them a loyal legion of listeners.

Tickets for this show, priced £33.50-37.50, are available from 01934 645544 or online via
