More classical delights at All Saints

IT is not often that Weston features on the classical music tour scene but one such event takes place at noon on August 4 when the German choral group Convivium Musicum visits with a bevy of choral favourites.
They will be singing in Oxford, Bristol, Wells Cathedral and Weston’s All Saints’ Church, chosen because of its stunning acoustic, judged equal to many UK cathedrals.
Danilo Tepsa will both conduct and play the mighty All Saints’ three-manual Compton pipe organ. The singers, all from Mainz, will give their own particular rendition of an all-English programme with works by Ireland, Purcell, Mendelssohn, Walton and Stanford.
The concert is part of the hugely popular one-hour lunchtime series and the £6 tickets include light refreshment. Tickets on sale at the door. Further details from Christopher Manners 01934 623462.
