The first acts taking part in next year’s Forest Live music festival have been announced, promising a night of top-quality entertainment.

Paul Heaton and Jacqui Abbott will perform at Tetbury’s Westonbirt Arboretum, in Mitchell Dive, on June 15 at 7.30pm.

Heaton and Abbott are best known for their time with The Beautiful South, which churned out 10 successful albums in the 1990s, boasting songs like Dream A Little Dream and Don’t Marry Her.

Prior to forming The Beautiful South, Heaton was the frontman of indie pop band The Housemartins.

The pair will be joined by punk star Billy Bragg, who is well known for his anti-establishment tunes.

The festival is organised by the Forestry Commission, with profits being used to preserve the sustainability of Britain’s forests.

Tickets, priced £37.35, are available from 03000 680400 or online via www.forestry.gov.uk/music
