ONE of the UK's most famous saxophonists will perform in Bath on Sunday.Courtney Pine and his award-winning band will bring their exciting live show to the Theatre Royal for the first time.Over the past 20 years Courtney has been at the forefront of the British jazz scene. He has also presented the widely acclaimed Jazz Crusade on BBC Radio Two.The famous musician released his first album, Journey To The Urge Within, almost 20 years ago. The follow-up to this was Destiny's Song in 1988 and his 1996 album Modern Day Jazz Stories was one of the Mercury Music Prize Albums Of The Year.With his new album, Resistance, Courtney explores material which he has so far left untapped.Courtney performed at Nelson Mandela's 80th birthday concert at Wembley in 1988 and has since gone on to collaborate with famous names including Roni Size, Beverley Knight and Lynden David Hall.Tickets, priced £13.50-18.50, are available from the box office on 01225 448844.
