THE Winter Gardens is the place for any pop purist this summer.Fans with a passion for music cannot afford to miss out on Thank You for the Music, which features numbers ranging from the dulcet tones of Elvis to the lively beats of Take That.The popular show running for the 6th year starts in the 1950s with melodies from artistes such as Bill Haley, The Everly Brothers and Jerry Lee Lewis. It continues throughout the ages of popular music with hits from the 60s including the yeah yeah yeah's of The Beatles and tunes from other artists such as Cilla Black, Tom Jones and Lulu. Moving up the pop timeline into the 70s the cast of professional and semi-professional singers encapsulate the Motown era and glamour of the disco. The 80s is innately represented by music from Queen, Dolly Parton and Spandau Ballet and the show finishes with recent songs such as Leona Lewis' 2006 Christmas Number 1 'A Moment Like This'. Show host Julian Franks will introduce each era informing the audience with a snapshot about the artistes and their music. The feel-good show features energetic dance routines choreographed by London-based dancer Adam Ludwell and is not to be missed with its animated vocals and costumes.Thank You for the Music will be running each Thursday this summer at 8pm until September 13. A special rate is available for parties of 10 or more while accompanied children go free.
