A BAFTA nominated and Ivor Novello Award-winning songwriter has swapped the pen for a microphone, and is taking his band to Bristol this month.
Renowned songwriter Jem Godfrey and his energetic rock band Frost* are heading to Bristol’s trendy boat-based music venue Thekla on July 29.
Godfrey has penned number-one singles for Holly Valance, Atomic Kitten and a series of X-Factor stars.
The songwriter also teamed up with Gary Barlow to produce four tunes for the soundtrack of the Broadway musical Finding Neverland, which were performed by the likes of Jennifer Lopez and Kiesza, but the vocalist and his progressive rockers are now taking centre stage.
Godfrey is joined on stage by guitarist John Mitchell, bass boss Nathan King and drummer Craig Blundell.
Between projects Godfrey has been playing keyboard for rockers Joe Satriani and Steve Vai on tour, but is now focused on Frost*, having just completed work on their third album, Falling Satellites, which was released in May.
This fast-paced evening of modern rock kicks off at 7pm at the East Mud Dock venue.
Tickets, priced £15.50, are available from 01179 293301 or online via www.theklabristol.co.uk
