A team of top-quality musicians from years gone by has been assembled and will perform on a Weston-super-Mare stage next week – taking the audience back to the early days of rock ‘n’ roll.

The Playhouse, in High Street, will host Back In Our Rock ‘n’ Roll Days on June 29 at 7.30pm.

Topping the bill is singer Billie Davis, who is best-remembered for her hits Tell Him, I Want You To Be My Baby and Back In Our Rock ‘n’ Roll Days.

The Surrey-born Crooner has commanded a career spanning more than half a century and is famed for her excellent live performances.

Two members of popular rockabilly band Matchbox, which blend country and Western with rock ‘n’ roll, will take to The Playhouse stage.

Vocalist Graham Fenton and guitarist Iain Terry will get the audience on their feet and dancing along to their up-tempo tunes like Rockabilly Rebel, When You Ask About Love and Washing Machine Boogie.

One of the founding members of British soul band The Foundations, the band behind the famous song Build Me Up Buttercup, will also feature at The Playhouse.

Guitar star Alan Warner will showcase his skills with the strings and perform some of The Foundations original hits.
