Masterpieces from two of the greatest composers in history will be performed in Wedmore next week.

Somerset Choral Society will present Mozart’s Requiem Mass and Handel’s Foundlin Hospital Anthem for its summer concert at St Mary’s Church, in Church Street, on June 16.

The first completed version of the Requiem was performed in 1792.

Handel’s Foundling Hospital Anthem was produced in 1749 and was the composer’s last piece of English church music.

Musical director Edward Goater will conduct the concert while the talents of organist Andrew Kirk will also feature.

Soloists include Lucy Balderson, Finn Lacey, Oliver Chubb and Harry Guthrie.

The concert at St Mary’s will start at 7.30pm on June
