Success of the scientists

INDIE rock band We Are Scientists will be performing some of their loud and catchy choruses at Bristol’s Thekla in July.
The band, which was formed in California 12-years-ago, is now based in New York and will be making a stop off in Bristol to entertain fans on July 23.
We are Scientists’ breakthrough success came with their second album With Love And Squalor which sold 100,000 copies in the first six months.
Their second success was with Brain Thrust Mastery which grabbed a spot at number 11 in the UK album chart and they claimed two top 40 singles - After Hours and Chick Lit. Their fourth album, Barbara, was released in the UK in 2010 and the band is currently recording new material for a fresh fifth album.
The band includes Keith Murray as vocalist and guitarist with Chris Cain playing bass guitar. Before 2009 the band also included Michael Tapper as drummer, but was then replaced by Andy Burrows from Razorlight.
The band will perform at the Thekla in East Mud Dock at 7.30pm. Tickets, priced £12.50, are available from the box office on 0117 9293301.
