A UNIQUE brand of musical eccentricity and excellence will be on offer at a Weston theatre this month.Temperance Seven, who had a string of chart success in the 1960s with their popular 1920s and thirties 'hot jazz' style, will perform at The Playhouse on July 15.The band had a number one with their single You're Driving Me Crazy in the 1960s, following it up with well-known hits (Home In) Pasadena, Chilo Bom Bom and Charleston.The current members of Temperance Seven have lost none of their original magic and charisma and continue to entertain audiences in theatres, stately homes and art festivals in Britain and abroad.The band has performed in front of the Queen, as well as in Las Vegas and Hong Kong. The present incumbent have over 180 years of service between them and have carried on the long-held traditions of Temperance Seven.The evening, which starts at 7.30pm, will consist of good, hot jazz of the twenties and thirties, intermingled with novelty items and antics from the band and cool humour and wit.It also features solo instrumentals, full band numbers and an audience participation 'sing-a-long' sequence, as well as comedy routines and deadpan tomfoolery.
