ONE of the biggest music bashes of the year will return to Weston this summer.

The Mercury can exclusively reveal that T4 On The Beach will be back in town.

Rumours have been rife over whether the musical extravaganza would take to the resort’s sands for a sixth time in 2011 and we can confirm that it will.

North Somerset Council and organisers behind the Channel 4 event, which attracts tens of thousands of party-goers to town, are trying to choose a date for the summer spectacular.

It is understood that there are two possible options being mooted and discussions are ongoing.

Last July the likes of JLS, Dizzee Rascal, Alexandra Burke, Diana Vickers, Tinie Tempah, N-Dubz, the Saturdays and Tinchy Stryder took to the stage at the pop-fuelled event and anxious fans will eagerly await news of this year’s line-up.

About 50,000 revellers turned out for the 2010 bash, a record-breaking number for T4 On The Beach.

The Weston Mercury was the first North Somerset paper to start an online petition in 2009 to bring it back to Weston the following year.
