ORIGINAL pop sensations The Searchers return to The Playhouse in Weston in August. Dubbed one of the most successful bands of the 1960s they still manage to be leaders of the pack and continue to delight young and old audiences alike. Formed in Liverpool in 1960 they were soon headlining top Liver venues. Their hit favourite Needles and Pins reached number one in 1964 and within three months the group reached the top again with Don't Throw Your Love Away. John McNally, Frank Allen, Spencer James and Eddie Rothe will deliver a memorable collection of sixties sounds on August 1 at 7.30pm. Tickets, priced £15, are available from The Playhouse box office on 01934 645544.
