An American band which created one of the most played pop tunes of recent years will take to a South West stage next month for a gig.

Walk The Moon will perform at Bristol’s O2 Academy, in Frogmore Street, on April 9 at 7pm.

The band are best known for their number-four single Shut Up And Dance With Me, which has accrued half a billion plays on music streaming site Spotify.

The Ohio-based pop-rockers scooped two Billboard Music Awards in 2016 for Shut Up and Dance With Me, and they have had subsequent chart hits with Anna Sun, One Foot and Back 2 U – which was a collaboration with top producer Steve Aoki.

The band are set to showcase material from their latest album, What If Nothing, which was debuted late last year.

Tickets for the concert, priced £20.75, are available by calling 08444 772000 or online by logging on to www.academy
