Someone Like You – The Adele Songbook is coming to Weston-super-Mare’s Playhouse, in High Street, and the Mercury is giving lucky readers the chance to win a pair of tickets to see the show.

The X Factor finalist Katie Markham will perform her tribute act to internationally renowned singer-songwriter Adele at the Playhouse at the end of this month.

She was picked by the award-winning artist to sing on Graham Norton’s BBC One show, Adele at the BBC, in 2015 and has since performed with the global superstar on stage in London.

Katie talks about Adele’s songs: “There is a real beauty to her music.

“I think that’s why it appeals to so many people, she lays raw emotion out for all the world to see.”

She will sing many of the artist’s songs from her albums, 19, 21 and 25 on the night, including Chasing Pavements, Set Fire To The Rain, and the soundtrack to 2012 James Bond film, Skyfall.

Katie made it to the finals of The X Factor in 2013 and is now considered to be the number one Adele tribute act in the world.

Singer-songwriter Adele has earned numerous awards for her music, including six Grammy Awards for her album 21 released in 2011, which was certified 16 times platinum in the UK and was the best-selling album worldwide for the year and also in 2012.

The event will take place on August 30 at Weston’s venue which starts at 7.30pm.
