TWO powerful operas will be staged in Bristol later this month.Puccini's La Boheme and Verdi's Rigoletto at The Bristol Hippodrome from April 27-29.Rigoletto will be performed is based on a play by Victor Hugo who wrote Les Miserables. It is a tale of a dissolute duke and a jester whose overwhelming love for his daughter leads to tragedy.The opera is inspired by the tradition of Renaissance painting and when it is staged at the Hippodrome on April 27, it will feature a golden eagle called Isla with a seven-foot wingspan.La Boheme, which is being staged on April 28 and 29, is a powerful tale of Parisian love and loss, featuring arias like Your Tiny Hand Is Frozen, They Call Me Mimi and Muzetta's Waltz.The carnival scene will include dancers and street entertainers showcasing a wave of fantastic colour and the romantic atmosphere of the capital city of France.Tickets, priced £10.50-43, are available from the box office on 08706 077500.
