THE cast for the record-breaking smash hit The Mousetrap, which is making its way to Weston in the summer, has been announced.

The 60th anniversary tour of Agatha Christie’s murder mystery The Mousetrap will stop off at The Playhouse next month.

The cast for the 2015 tour includes Hester Arden as Miss Casewell, Edward Elgood as Christopher Wren and Eastenders’ Mark Homer as Giles Ralston.

Northern Stage’s Esther McAuley will star as Mollie Ralston
and Jonathan Sidgwick, known for his roles in Hollyoaks and Coronation Street, as Mr Paravicini.

William Ilkley joins from the West End production of The Mousetrap as Major Metcalf alongside Luke Jenkins and Anne Kavanagh who will reprise their roles from the record-breaking 2014 tour as Sergeant Trotter and Mrs Boyle respectively.

The production originally opened in 1952 starring Richard Attenborough and his wife Sheila Sim.

Agatha Christie’s The Mousetrap has been the world’s longest running stage production at its London home since 1958.

The 60th anniversary – and first ever – UK tour of this beloved murder mystery has been seen by more than 600,000 people across more than 600 performances and breaking box office records in many of its venues.

The Mousetrap will run at the High Street venue from July 13-18. Tickets, priced £23.50-28.50, are available from the box office on 01934 645544 or via www.theplayhouse.co.uk
