ONE of the best-loved fairytales of all time will be staged at The Playhouse, Weston, later this month.Dancers from the Vienna Festival Ballet will star in Sleeping Beauty on September 30.The breathtaking ballet is set in the magical world of a fairy kingdom where the king and queen are celebrating the birth of their daughter Princess Aurora.The youngster's christening is gate-crashed by a wicked fairy who casts a spell on the princess which means she will prick her finger on a spinning wheel and die on her 16th birthday.The king orders the destruction of all spinning wheels to prevent the accident happening.Can the good fairies and the king save the princess or if not, will the handsome prince battle his way to her side?With stunning choreography, spectacular costumes and Tchaikovsky's powerful score, the much-loved story promises to be a hit.Tickets, priced £14-18, are available from the box office on 01934 645544.
