BLAKEHAY Actors Company will return to the stage in Weston this month with an evening of two one-act plays.

Meetings and Partings will consist of The Primrose Path and Beata Beatrix, and will be performed at The Blakehay Theatre in Wadham Street from August 16-18.

Both plays are light comedies written by the award-winning playwright Gillian Plowman.

Beata Beatrix is set in an art gallery where two strangers go to view the Dante Gabriel Rosetti masterpiece, named Beata Beatrix.

With each of them having an emotionally painful past, they come together in a scenario that has echoes of the famous painting.

It is the winner of several festival best new play awards.

The Primrose Path features the recently-sacked James, who meets a homeless woman – the itinerant Primrose – in his glasshouse.

Their surreal and often hilarious exchanges help alleviate James’s overpowering feelings of bitterness.

Tickets for the shows are priced £7.50, and are available from the theatre box office on 01934 645493 from 10am-2pm daily.
