One of Britain's biggest dance companies is celebrating its 90th anniversary with three new performances at the Theatre Royal in Bath.
Rambert Dance Company was first born in 1926 and its creator – Polish-born Marie Rambert – focused on developing dancers as artists and working closely with choreographers.
This has remained the case for the past 90 years and the three dances will showcase this talent on stage.
The dances will include Patricia Okenwa’s Hydragyrum, the Macbeth-inspired story of Tomorrow, and an exploration of the issue of immigration which is called Flight.
The performances will be accompanied by the critically-acclaimed Rambert Orchestra, who have been successful in their own right. Rambert are the only contemporary dance company to always perform alongside live music.
The company have performed in Bath regularly over the years and will make their return tonight (Thursday).
Rambert will be at The Theatre Royal, in Saw Close, from tonight until Saturday, with performances at 7.30pm each night, with matinee shows at 2.30pm on Friday and Saturday.
Tickets, priced £14.50-32.50, are available by calling 01225 448844, or online via www.theatreroyal.org.uk
