A FAMILIAR face from television and film will appear in an action packed comedy in Bath this summer.James Fleet will play Doctor Wicksteed in Habeas Corpus, which will be staged at the Theatre Royal from June 30 until August 12 as part of the Peter Hall Company 2006 season.With a succession of characters ranging from a rampant doctor to a randy vicar, the play is one of Alan Bennett's most popular pieces. It was first performed at the Lyric Theatre in London in 1973 when it starred Alec Guinness.James Fleet is perhaps best-known for his role as Tom in Four Weddings And A Funeral and Hugo in The Vicar Of Dibley.Annette Badland (The Rise And Fall Of Little Voice, Charlie And The Chocolate Factory) will take on the role of Mrs Wicksteed while Barry Stanton (The Woman In Black, An Inspector Calls) will don an apron and play Mrs Swabb.They will perform alongside the likes of Teddy Kempner, Joanna McCallum, Michael Mers, Edward Bennett, Paul Bentall, Caitlin Mottram, Susie Trayling and Ben Turner.Tickets, priced £13.50-29.50, are available from the box office on 01225 448844.
