SOME of the most popular songs from Broadway and the West End will be performed throughout the summer in Weston.Each Wednesday at 8pm until September 26, the musical spectacular, Songs from the Shows, will be performed in the Winter Gardens.The show boasts a large range of songs including numbers from West Side Story, The King and I and Oklahoma, as well as songs from more modern productions such as Grease and Les Miserables.The show also features some of Andrew Lloyd Webber's West End hits such as Cats and Joseph and His Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, as well as music from the very latest musicals like Spamalot and Billy Elliot. For younger ears there will also be songs from musicals Annie, Oliver and Mary Poppins.Songs from the Shows in it's 12th consecutive year produced by 1st Call Entertainment, managed by show host Julian Franks and directed by Tim Reid. It boasts a cast of professional and semi-professional singers.Tickets to the musical extravaganza, priced £8.50 for adults or £8 for children and senior citizens are available from the box office on 01934 645544. A special rate is available for parties of 10 or more while accompanied children go free.
