One of English cricket's best ever spin bowlers, Graeme Swann, will discuss the trials and tribulations of his sporting career during a talk in Bridgwater.

The cricketer was part of the England team which claimed the number one Test ranking in 2011, and defeated Australia in two Ashes series.

In 2010, he was also the first English off-spinner since Jim Laker in the 1950s to take 10 wickets in a Test match, and was named the England and Wales Cricket Board’s cricketer of the year the same the year.

Since retiring from international cricket in 2013, he moved to Test Match Special’s commentary box to share his insights on the game.

He will now share anecdotes and impressions during a theatre tour, where he will be joined by one of cricket’s best-loved commentators, Henry Blofeld.

Blofeld commentated on Test Match Special throughout Swann’s career, and audiences can expect a sighting of his famous red trousers in a show full of surprises.

Great British Spin Off will be at The McMillan Theatre in Lower Bath Road, Bridgwater, on Tuesday at 7.30pm.

Tickets, priced £25, are available from www.mcmillantheatre.com or by calling 01278 556677.
