GREASE will most definitely be the word at The Bristol Hippodrome later this month.Pop Idol's Hayley Evetts and stage star Jarrod Carland (Showboat, Phantom Of The Opera, Saturday Night Fever, Cats) will appear in the classic production from September 18-23.Since breaking out onto Broadway in 1972 Grease has delighted audiences with its back-to-back sizzling tunes. It also won the viewers' votes and became the number one greatest musical of all time on Channel Four's 100 Greatest Musicals.The two-year UK tour of Grease from 2003-2005 was phenomenally successful and was the most popular one-week show ever at Nottingham's Royal Concert Hall. In Bristol the show sold out seven weeks prior to opening.Hayley Evetts, who will play Sandy, first enjoyed fame when she became a finalist in Pop Stars and then came fifth in the first series of Pop Idol.Jarrod Carland, who will take on the role of charmer Danny, is becoming one of Australia's brightest musical theatre stars both at home and on the international stage. He has performed in over 20 productions with the Victoria State Opera and The Australian Opera.Grease is a musical love story bursting with denim, cheerleaders, slick hairstyles and above all, great tunes.Written by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey, the show features all the unforgettable songs including You're The One That I Want, Sandy, Grease Is The Word and Hopelessly Devoted.Tickets, priced £16-32.50, area available from the box office on 0870 607 7500.
