AN EXCITING new production of a world-renowned musical is about to hit the stage in Bristol.Cameron Mackintosh's Miss Saigon will enchant audiences at The Bristol Hippodrome until June 24.Set in 1975 during the final days leading up to the American evacuation of Saigon, it is an epic love story about the relationship between an American GI and a young Vietnamese woman.A brilliant new set vividly shows the streets of Vietnam and Bangkok and the famous helicopter flight from the roof of the American Embassy is recreated in an exciting and memorable way.Sixteen years ago Cameron Mackintosh premiered Alain Boubil and Claude-Michel Schonberg's epic tale at London's Drury Lane. Since then the production has gone on to become the third most successful musical in the history of British theatre. It has been staged in 18 countries, in nine different languages and has won 29 awards.
