NEW members are invited to join an exciting drama project at the Theatre in the Hut this autumn. Directed by John Butler, the next Wayfarers Drama Group production will be Matthew Francis' adaptation of the classic Jane Austen novel, Northanger Abbey.Keen to encourage new talent, the group will be holding an open evening at the Theatre in the Hut, off Milton Avenue, on Monday and Wednesday at 7.30pm.The evening will provide an opportunity to see the theatre, to meet new friends and to enjoy a read through of the play.Set in Bath in the Regency period, Northanger Abbey follows the fantasy world of Catherine Morland and the romance and mystery that develops. The Theatre in the Hut has been very busy in recent months. The Wayfarers has a hugely popular youth group. Act One is run by local teacher Sharone Miller, and rehearsals are well underway for their next production, The Queen of Hearts. With performances from July 26-28, including a Saturday matinee, early booking is strongly recommended, and tickets are available from 01934 515501. The Orchard Theatre Project, funded by the Arts Council and North Somerset Council, inspired new actors to develop and create their own show - The Visit. This is all part of the on-going programme to encourage drama in the area. These exciting artistic developments are attracting new audiences to the Theatre in the Hut. For more information call Jackie Hollway on 01934 515778.
