DOORMEN and their exploits will be the focus of a play being performed at a Somerset theatre on Saturday.

Bouncers will be held at Kings Theatre at The Kings Of Wessex Academy in Station Road, Cheddar.

Playwright John Godber is famous for his observational comedies and is also known as the man behind the Hull Truck Theatre Company – and Bouncers is arguably his most popular play.

Set in a northern nightclub called Mr Cinders, the action focuses on four doormen and their customers.

Packed with movement, music and impersonations of girls out on the town, the play promises laughs as it pokes fun at the reality of inner-city streets.

The one-act play will be followed by another, Quartet – a light comedy about a musician who, having lost everything, accidentally gains a jazz quartet.

The plays will be performed from 7pm on Saturday. A charity raffle will also be held.

Tickets, priced £4-8.50, are available by calling 01934 744939.
