A village amateur dramatic group will take to the stage next week to perform a comedy play.

Bleadon Players will perform The Amorous Ambassador at Coronation Hall, in Coronation Road, from May 25-27 at 7.30pm.

The players have built an excellent reputation for delivering quality performances to sell-out audiences.

The play, which is written by Michael Parker, follows the American ambassador to Britain – who pretends to venture to Scotland for a golfing jolly with his pals.

But instead, he plots to have an affair at his home while his family go on holiday.

But unfortunately for the ambassador, his wife and daughter also plan romantic encounters of their own at the house.

In disastrous fashion, a crisis develops at the embassy, meaning the ambassador’s home which is believed to be empty must be used as the new base.

Tickets, priced £7, are available from Bleadon Post Office in Purn Way, or on the door at the event.
