A production at Theatre Royal Bath is promising to banish the end-of-summer blues by bringing feel-good music to the stage.

Salad Days is an award-winning musical which is appearing at the Bath theatre for the first time in 20 years.

It is set in the summer of 1954 when its main characters Timothy and Jane have just graduated from university.

By chance, a passing tramp offers the pair the chance to look after his mobile piano for a month, but they soon discover the piano gives everyone within earshot an irresistible and unstoppable urge to dance every time it plays.

Salad Days will be at Theatre royal in Saw Close from Tuesday until September 16.

Tickets, priced £19.50-35.50, are available via 01225 448844 or via www.theatreroyal.org.uk

Performances will be at various times, and are available on the theatre’s website.
