A catalogue of catastrophes at a school for girls is the focus of a new play by the Mendip Players.

After September, written by Jimmie Chinn, will be performed in July.

In the show, the staff at Gwendolen Kyte School For Girls are an assortment of social misfits and eccentric types.

They are returning for a new term, but discover their school is facing closure.

They begin to wonder what will happen to them if the school is to close down; where will they go, and, most importantly, who has betrayed them all?

The Mendip Players will perform After September at the Memorial Hall in Latches Lane, Draycott, on July 14-16 at 7.30pm.

Tickets, priced £7.50, are available from the post office in The Street or from www.themendipplayers.co.uk
