The Festival Players

This summer will see another Shakespeare play staged outdoors in Claverham.

The Festival Players have run several successful performances in the village over the years and they have been encouraged to return again for 2018.

This year, the players will be staging The Winter’s Tale – a story of jealousy with a king’s fear his pregnant wife may have been unfaithful.

The story features love and romance at its heart, and despite Leontes’ trust concerns, has many comedic moments too to make the audience laugh.

The performance will be on June 8 and will start at 7.30pm outside the village hall, in Bishop Road.

The audience is encouraged to take chairs or blankets and a raffle to raise money for the village school will be held.

Tickets, priced £15, are available from the hall, Court de Wyck Church School, Cleeve Stores or Clive’s in Yatton. Alternatively, they can be bought online at www.eventbrite.co.uk
