HISTORIAN David Starkey will be giving a talk in Weston in September, providing an insight into the life of the Tudors.
David Starkey is one of the world’s leading experts on that period of time, stretching from the reign of King Henry VII to the death of Elizabeth I.
He describes the era as a glorious soap opera, where decisions with enormous repercussions were made according to how rulers felt when they woke up in the morning.
David Starkey is known for his forthright views and is a sometimes-controversial contributor to the BBC’s Question Time.
He has presented a number of historical TV series on subjects such as Henry VIII, the monarchy and Winston Churchill.
His talk is one of many An Evening With talks launched by The Playhouse.
Coming up later this year is Michael Portillo, and Baroness Shirley Williams, Germaine Greer and Jonathan Dimbleby will all be speaking at the venue in 2015.
David Starkey will be giving a talk on the Tudors and us on September 26 at 7.30pm.
