A friendship is tested to the limit in a female version of The Odd Couple, showing in Backwell next month.

The play, written by Neil Simon, is being performed by Backwell Playhouse Theatre Company.

Olive Madison and her girlfriends are enjoying their weekly Trivial Pursuit night when Florence Unger arrives and announces she has been dumped by her husband.

Fearing the neurotic Florence might attempt suicide, Olive invites her to move in as her roommate.

Olive and Florence, however, have very different personalities – Olive is messy and untidy, while Florence is obsessively clean.

Olive's easy-going outlook soon clashes with Florence's highly-strung neurotic tendencies.

The hilarious comedy is showing at Backwell Playhouse, in Mariners Drive, from May 23-25.

Tickets, priced £12, are available from 01179 63 3586 or at www.BackwellPlayhouse.co.uk
