Win tickets to Spoonful Of Sherman at The Playhouse in Weston

A new musical filled with songs the whole family will love is heading to The Playhouse in Weston.
A Spoonful Of Sherman pays tribute to three generations of songwriters, two of whom created much-loved music for dozens of films.
The Oscar-winning brothers, Richard M and Robert B Sherman, remain one of the most formidable songwriting teams in family entertainment history.
From 1964, their partnership produced songs and scores for films including some of Disney’s most well-known titles.
Their work featured in the likes of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, The Jungle Book and Charlotte’s Webb – and of course includes the Mary Poppins classic A Spoonful Of Sugar, among others from the film.
The prolific brothers were the sons of Al Sherman, who wrote songs Frank Sinatra and Ella Fitzgerald, along with other musicians from the golden American Songbook period of the 1930s-1950s.
Robert B Sherman’s son, Robert J Sherman, has gone on to become a successful composer in his own right.
His musical Love Birds premiered at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2015.
Robert has brought his family’s story together to form the musical journey A Spoonful Of Sherman.
The show will star West End actor Sophie-Louise Dann and A1 band member Mark Read.
A Spoonful Of Sherman will be at The Playhouse on May 14 and 15 at 7.30pm, with a 2.30pm matinee on May 15.
Tickets, priced £18-24, are available from www.theplayhouse.co.uk or 01934 645544.
