The British Philharmonic Concert Orchestra will bring the festive spirit to Weston-super-Mare with music by well-known composers.

Music by Johann Strauss, Franz Lehar, Emmerich Kalman and Sigmund Romberg will all be celebrated with A Viennese Strauss Christmas Gala at The Playhouse.

Soloists Marilyn Hill Smith, Andrew Forbes Lane, and Jeremy Peaker will perform music to get people into the festive spirit ahead of December.

The music includes waltzes and songs which have been enjoyed for generations.

The Blue Danube, The Champagne Polka and Radetzky March will all be performed by the orchestra.

As well as music by some of the classical tunes, audiences can enjoy some well-known festive carols, including Silent Night, O Holy Night and O Christmas Tree.

There will be plenty of opportunities for people to join in with the carols.

The show will be presented by Malcolm Mckee, from BBC Radio 4’s The Archers.

A Viennese Strauss Christmas Gala will be at The Playhouse, in High Street, on November 27 at 7.30pm.
