THE Wayfarers Drama Group and their young adults group Upstaged will present two one act plays next week.

The Plumleigh Players is a new play written and directed by Wayfarer member Heather Gadd.

It is an insightful look behind the scenes of a village amateur dramatics group, based on her experience. What with the comings and goings of new and old members, some devastating news, disappointment in love and the discovery of hidden talent, there is not a dull moment in the theatre group.

Baby Sitting Calvin, a comedy by John Newmeir, showcases the skills and talents of the recently formed Upstaged group.

It is Katie’s first night out since her baby son Calvin was born.

He is looking forward to spending the night with a babysitter but he is in for a surprise, because the sitter, Laura, turns out to have an interesting relationship to him, not to mention her friend Bob, whom she brings along for company.

The promised cosy evening turns into something very different.

The shows will be on stage at the Theatre In The Hut, in Colonel Stephens Way, Weston, from May 15-17 at 7.30pm.

Tickets, priced £8, are available from the box office on 07582 881594.
