Snow White & The Seven Dwarfs will be at the venue, in High Street, from December 13 to January 5 and the first casting announcement has been made.

Linda Lusardi will take on the role of The Wicked Queen and is an experience pantomime performer having been part of more than 25 shows over the past three decades.

She rose to fame as a model during the 1980s and 1990s before becoming a well-known television personality in 2007 when she joined Emmerdale.

Linda has also won Celebrity Come Dine With Me and finished in sixth place in ITV show Dancing On Ice.

Comedian Mike Goble will also return to The Playhouse as Muddles for this year’s pantomime.

He starred as Wishee Washee in Aladdin last year while he also took on writing and directing duties for the production, with the latter being a role he will also hold this year.

The Playhouse’s general manager Mark Thompson said: “We are delighted to announce that Linda is joining us.

“Linda brings a wealth of pantomime experience having been headlining pantomimes at theatres across the UK for more than 25 years.

“Last year’s pantomime was a huge success and arguably the strongest we’ve produced to date – the return of Mike Goble as director will see this year’s build on that success and ensure that this year’s offering is the best it can be.

“There’s a few, spectacular surprises planned for this year and seven reasons to book early to avoid disappointment.”

More casting announcements will be made in the coming months.

Tickets for Snow White & The Seven Dwarfs, priced £19.95-24.50, are available by calling the box office on 01934 645544 or online at
