TIM Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical masterpiece Evita opens at The Bristol Hippodrome later this month.
With more than 20 major awards to its credit, including the Oscar-winning film version starring Madonna and Antonio Banderas, and featuring some of the most iconic songs in musical theatre, this brand new production of the smash hit show truly promises to be a theatrical treat.
It will be staged in Bristol from June 27 to July 2.
Evita follows the extraordinary life of Eva Peron, wife of former Argentine dictator Juan Peron, who, from young and ambitious beginnings, gained enormous wealth and power during her ultimate rise to sainthood.
Abigail Jaye will play the role of extraordinary Eva Peron,.
Abigail’s musical theatre credits include her role as narrator in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and Isobel in Scrooge (West End and UK Tour).
Joining Abigail on stage in the role of Che is Mark Powell, whose credits include Evita (West End), Whistle Down the Wind (West End) and Les Misérables (West End) and Earl Carpenter as Juan Peron, whose credits include We Will Rock You (West End), Phantom of the Opera (West End) and Witches of Eastwick (West End).
Featuring some of the most famous and inspiring stage music ever written, including the classic songs Don’t Cry For Me Argentina, On This Night of a Thousand Stars, Oh What A Circus, You Must Love Me, Another Suitcase in Another Hall and High Flying Adored, Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s extraordinary musical embarks on a spectacular European tour.
