COMEDIAN Joe Pasquale will continue to delight audiences with his live stand-up when he returns to Weston this month.
After touring for almost 20 years, and doing voices of characters in Hollywood movies such as Garfield, A Tale of Two Kitties and Horton Hears A Who!, the squeaky voiced Brit is back at The Playhouse for his Pull My Finger Tour.
The Mercury spoke exclusively to Joe this week and he said he was thrilled to be coming back to the resort.
He said: “I have been coming to Weston since about 1993, but I never get time to take a look around because we have to get going to the next place.
“The show is two hours of nonsense – but it’s good family-fun.
“Many comedians’ shows contain a lot of adult humour, but my show is suitable for everyone - it’s a family show.
“It’s just me, for two hours, with lots of props, and is a good bit of escapism from all the serious stuff in the news that people are bombarded with all the time.”
Joe, who was crowned king of the jungle in ITV’s I’m A Celebrity Get Me out Of Here in 2004, said he is always writing down notes for jokes that pop into his mind and is constantly hunting on eBay for props for the show.
The show starts at 7.30pm on July 30 and tickets, priced £17, are available from the box office on 01934 645544 or online at www.theplayhouse.co.uk
