PUBLISHED: 06:00 25 August 2016
One of Britain’s best-loved orchestras will visit Weston-super-Mare for a rousing performance on Sunday – and you could be there thanks to our competition.
The British Philharmonic Concert Orchestra will delight the audience with a traditional proms-style gala performance.
The show will celebrate the Olympic Games in honour of Team GB’s success at the Rio de Janeiro games, and will also pay homage to some of the country’s top spies.
Firm favourites such as Rule Britannia, Land Of Hope And Glory and Jerusalem will feature throughout the show, along with other popular tunes such as the James Bond theme.
The show’s host, Mark Langley, will also be on hand providing his usual dose of cheer and wit, while soloists will encourage people to sing as loudly as they possibly can.
Last Night At The Proms will be at The Playhouse, in High Street, Weston, at 7.30pm on Sunday.
Tickets, priced £24.50 for adults or £16 for children, are available from 01934 645544 on online via www.theplayhouse.co.uk
The Mercury has teamed up with The Playhouse to offer one lucky reader a pair of tickets to the show.
The competition will close at 4pm today (Thursday). Usual Archant rules apply and the editor’s decision is final.
